About the Doctor

I have spent my career listening to children, adolescents, and adults, and I remain moved by what becomes possible when someone feels truly heard. Psychoanalysis offers a rare kind of space: one where there is time to slow down, to notice what has gone unspoken, and to discover new ways of being.

My path began in Bogotá, Colombia, where I studied medicine, and brought me to Miami for my training in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Miami, and later to psychoanalysis at the Florida Psychoanalytic Institute. Today I serve as President of the Florida Psychoanalytic Center, and I supervise and teach psychiatry residents at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. I have presented my clinical work at national and international meetings, including the American Psychoanalytic Association.

I work in both English and Spanish, because what is closest to us often lives in our first language.
