About The Doctor

Dr. Kathy Monroy completed her residency in Adult Psychiatry and her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital – University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She received her Medical Doctor degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. Dr. Monroy has been interested in research since early in her career and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Miami – Diabetes Research Institute prior to entering her psychiatric residency training. 

She has published in several medical journals and presented in national as well as international meetings. Dr. Monroy continues to engage actively in teaching and research at Florida International University where she serves as Faculty of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health for Hebert Wertheim College of Medicine.

Dr. Monroy is Bilingual and is able to conduct evaluations and treatments in both English and Spanish.
